A miracle happened and I am able to make my pilgrimage to Zurich for its infamous Street Parade 2004
party. Many thanks to DJ Grace for accompanying me.
I arrived in Zurich at 3pm with no expectations but when I saw a topless woman riding the escalator in the main
train station, I know it is going to be anything but a wicked party. Things already kicked off when I arrived, SheDJ Lady Tom
from Mainstation rocking Zurich railway with heart-pounding HardDance tunes. If only she could mix the records as good as her looks.
Anyway, since neither of us liked Hard Style, we decided to head down to the lake and catch the love mobiles. This
is where the happenings happened. As we were walking down the street, we could hear a plethora of dance music.
Almost every shops has a DJ working the decks. It was amazing.
Upon reaching the lake, there are over a million people had gathered and dancing to EDM (that's Electronic Dance
Music) that blastered from the arrays of speakers stacked on the love mobiles.
I can't summarized the whole event in words as no amount of words can fully describe the event. It was a day where
genre doesn't matter - b-boys and girls dancing to Techno and House. It was a day where both ends of the
spectrum meet - gays and straights standing shoulder to shoulder. It was a day where every one; old and young, people
of all colours, races or religion just stood up and danced.
Can't wait for 2005.
