How did it all start?
The year was 1996 - When the Multimedia era in Singapore is all about web and graphic design, very
few or rarely would anyone looked into the prospect of being a VFX Artist, I took up the interest
and invested all my time on it. The bug bit me when I first saw "Independence Day" but it took
me a a bit longer to figure out how everything was choreographed together. Ever since 'Independence Day', I always
feel adrenaline rushing up my spine whenever I saw a movie with excellent visual effects.
What about Vids?
Doing videos is my sidekick. I started off at VHQ Post editing and animating TV commercials but my all time
favourite is creating Music videos.
Your contribution to the industry in Singapore?
I started off doing shedloads of freelance editing and motion graphics work but I am looking
forward in doing more projects from the likes of music videos and visual effects in the near future.
How do you see the future?
Well, everybody has a dream, and mine is to be a Visual Effects Artist in Hollywood,
editing blockbusters of the century. Currently, I'm doing editing work in a local production house.
As The market in VFX and vids editor is opening slowly, all I could say is that the future is bright.
Cheers
David :)
